The Story Behind founding of Aakhar Hindi Journal is an interesting one.

It might surprise many that Aakhar Hindi Journal was conceived during a casual walk as a conversation between its managing editor and founder with her husband way back in September 2021.

The founder was struggling to publish her paper, a requirement for her PhD submission. Her husband’s encouraging words, “If you can edit a journal, you can start one too!” sparked a dream.
With unwavering determination, she shared her idea with her mentor and PhD guide, Dr. Prathibha Mudaliar, who with her cautious approach prewarned her about the expected workload but recognized her resolve and offered her support for the dream.

With her husband’s support and investment, Aakhar Hindi Journal was launched as the first-ever international peer-reviewed online Hindi e-journal from South India.

The primary mission of Aakhar Hindi Journal was to make publication easily accessible to all PhD scholars, researchers, academicians and budding authors which was hitherto restricted to a few established journals getting published from North India.

In line with this mission — Aakhar Hindi Journal continues to grow as a literary, cultural and societal online journal.
It caters to:

• Original research articles
• Short poems
• Travelogues
• Book reviews
• Interview with eminent writers
• Short stories from prospective authors

In addition, it will also have special and interesting unique features like:

• PG’s corner
• Scholar’s guide
• Translation related works

Being one of its kind journals, it will have a global outreach catering to an international scholar group with a regional fervour.
Priority will be given to budding writers and established women authors and articles on subjects of women-centric issues.

Having chosen an open access model rather than conventional subscription-based model, we have ensured the free availability of all the articles to all readers.

Every year, we are publishing a theme-based issue or a special edition focussed on specific topics such as:

• Women’s empowerment
• Social justice
• Environmental issues

among others to enhance the journal’s reach among targeted audience.

In addition to its publication scope, Aakhar Hindi Journal has undertaken a lot of novel initiatives to foster creative talent.

One of the journal’s unique initiatives was the creation of a YouTube platform named “Sahitya Sandhya” for writers and poets.

This platform nurtured creative talent and provided opportunities for growth making a meaningful impact in the academic and literary world.
It also provided a platform for budding authors to interact with the established writers in a regular fashion.

Aakhar Hindi Journal continues to uphold its mission providing a voice to emerging scholars and writers and also has a dedicated Facebook page and Instagram page named Aakhar Samooh, which will have scholars interacting on topics of chosen interest.

In tune with the current trends, every issue of Aakhar on publication will also be shared on its official social media handles of Facebook and Instagram pages to be available for its readers and authors.
This especially has helped us to reach wider younger talents and researchers.

Keeping our motto of enhancing article visibility and credibility intact, we are among the first in the field to provide DOIs for each published article in the journal and we encourage authors to obtain unique ORCID IDs, which will eventually help improving research workflows, discoverability, and recognition.

We are in the process of getting indexed with reputed international indexing agencies.
Our indexing efforts aim to enhance the journal’s reputation, credibility, and research impact ultimately benefitting our authors and readers.

Aakhar Hindi Journal has provided a platform for voices to be heard and has fostered academic and literary growth striving for excellence down south.
As we continue to grow, we remain committed to our mission and values and continue to be a key platform for advancing research in the field.

यह कई लोगों को आश्चर्यचकित कर सकता है कि आखर हिंदी जर्नल की कल्पना सितंबर 2021 में अपने पति के साथ एक आकस्मिक चलने के दौरान एक बातचीत के रूप में की गई थी।

आखर हिंदी पत्रिका एक साहित्यिक, सांस्कृतिक और सामाजिक ऑनलाइन जर्नल के रूप में बढ़ रहा है, जो मूल शोध लेखों, लघु कविताओं, यात्रा वृत्तांतों, पुस्तक समीक्षाओं, प्रमुख लेखकों के साथ साक्षात्कार और संभावित लेखकों की लघु कथाओं को समर्पित है।
इसमें विशेष और रोचक विशेषताएं जैसे पीजी का कोना, विद्वान गाइड और अनुवाद संबंधित कार्य भी होंगे।
